This sizable ammolite is truly stunning with its seamless blending of colors, flowing effortlessly from green to yellow to gold to orange. The striking yellows and oranges envelop the lively greens with natural separations, resembling rivers or highways on a map. Since ammolite is relatively soft, it’s common practice to apply a protective coating to most cabochons. In this batch, all pieces were coated with a two-part epoxy, which gives them a Mohs hardness rating of approximately 8 out of 10, making them highly durable and even polishable!
