Andesine

Andesine was first described in 1841 for an occurrence in the Marmato mine in Columbia but was never heard about up until the early 2000s. It was named for the Andes Mountains due to its abundance in the andesite, or lava rock. This relatively new gem on the market is a red feldspar gemstone that often times has hints of green shadows in a labradorescent effect. It is also associated with the heart chakra and is used to disperse negativity while also providing clarity to one’s thoughts. It is also believed that andesine is a grounding stone that can help ease stress. It can be found in red, orange, yellow, pink, and green but is most commonly found in a reddish orange hue with green shadows.
