Rhodonite
Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral that is transparent to opaque and comes in shades from pale pink to a deep red that is said to even rival ruby in color. Some examples display veins or patches of brown or black that are caused by concentrations of manganese oxides, giving each sample a unique appearance. Rhodonite gems are believed to reduce anxiety, acting as a comfort stone that can be rubbed in times of distress. It is said to reflect the light of the heart and love and stimulate the heart chakra. Rhodonite is most commonly found in cabochon form or as carvings but can also be faceted to have a greasy or vitreous luster.
